{What I Wore Wednesday}

This week I've had a couple of nights out!

First up was a work night out at the weekend:

Animal print dress from Wallis

I had my hair done at Kano and they put it up for me :-)

The team had dinner at Burger Meats Bun and it was really yum. I can highly recommend it - we all loved the various chicken wings and different types of fries that we had to accompany our burgers. I loved that the burgers were served in paper and there weren't any plates. There were also rolls of kitchen roll on each table rather than napkins! There was a relaxed vibe and I'll definitely go back.

Then last night was date night, and this is what I wore:

Sequin jumper from Warehouse
Grey skinny jeans from Tu at Sainsbury's

Coral blazer from Wallis

We had cocktails at Hummingbird followed by dinner at The Butchershop Bar and Grill. The restaurant runs an offer on a Tuesday... Burger vs Steak Frites and you can choose from the house burger or dry-aged rump steak. 2 steaks or burgers with fries and a bottle of house wine for £30. Not bad! Again, I'd highly recommend it.

Head on over to Transatlantic Blonde's blog to see who else is joining in with What I Wore this week.

{What I Wore}

It's been a while since I hooked up with Transatlantic Blonde's What I Wore Wednesday (yes, I know it's Thursday and I'm late to the party!!).

Anyway, here's an outfit of mine from the last week:

Gold lion belt, Warehouse

We were given a very cute party bag from a wee boy that was leaving my son's nursery, and inside was this sweetie watch. Yum!

Go and have a peek at the amazing watermelon mojito recipe on Transatlantic Blonde's post. Looks divine!! I love a wee mojito!! :-)

{Throwback Thursday}

The other week I wore this pair of khaki coloured cropped trousers from TopShop:

The trousers are at least 10 years old and I'm amazed that I can now fit back into them! I dug out an old photograph of me wearing them... I reckon that I'm 20 or 21 years old!!!

{What I Wore}

It's been a while since I've linked up with Transatlantic Blonde's What I Wore Wednesday (although I do realise today is Thursday!!). Following our appearance in the press, I was motivated to join in again but was distracted with all the house stuff that is ongoing right now.

Anyway, here I am in an outfit I wore during the previous week:

I'm still sticking with my Project 333 & in May I will rotate my choices as hopefully the weather will have improved & I can swap out the boots for sandals and jumpers for t-shirts *crosses fingers*

Glasses - Tom Ford from SpecsDirect2u
Embellished sweatshirt from Tesco
Skinny jeans from Next
Trainers from Dune

I teamed my dress with black tights (M&S, of course!) and black Russell & Bromley shoe boots

Here's the dress on the Baukjen website... I'm thinking I should try a low slung belt rather than round my waist... watch this space!

{What I Wore Wednesday}

It's been a looong while, but I thought it was about time I joined back in with Transatlantic Blonde's What I Wore Wednesday blog hop. I'm currently sat waiting for the supermarket delivery man to come, so thought it was an ideal opportunity to do a quick post!

This week Blondie has shared the story of her stepsister who is trying to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk 2012. Please do check out her post here.
Seeing as I'm getting back into my fitness again, I thought I'd share with you my workout gear from Monday night. Most of my kit is from Nike. No particular reason really other than I bought my first pair of running leggings from Nike.com and I've stuck with them!

Hoodie - Nike
Running leggings - Nike
Trainers - Asics

Capri trousers - Nike

Just as an aside, these leggings are on my wish list - I love them both as they're a bit different...

{To Love Somebody}

As I mentioned in my previous post, one of my best friends Steph got married yesterday.

I travelled up from Glasgow to Inverness with one of my other best friends, Claire, and her husband. It was an early start as we had to leave at 8am to ensure we got there on time and I was subsequently up at 6am to make a start on my hair & make-up (false eyelashes to be applied etc!!).

My travel outfit: Ombre Print Knitted Top from M&S, Jacket by Ted Baker and Salsa Jeans from House of Fraser

The rain unfortunately hampered plans for them getting married on the lawn, but the sun did appear later in the day. The kid's dad, who is very good friends with the groom, was also in attendance at the wedding and had been asked to sing a song with his guitar whilst the register was signed (he used to be in a band and has sung before at someone's wedding, so he can actually sing). Thankfully, the layout of the room meant that I didn't need to look at him (as he sang 'To Love Somebody'....with the words 'I live and breathe for you, but what good does it do, if I ain't got you, ain't got you'...) and I just focussed myself on watching the happy couple. This was the first wedding I had attended since the failure of my own marriage, and I did find it a bit sad listening to the celebrant. Both the bride and groom had written letters to each other and they put these into a box during the ceremony along with a bottle of wine. The celebrant advised them that marriages are tough and that at any point they can open the box, drink the wine, read their letters and be reminded of their wedding day, or if they don't need it before, they can open the box at their 10 year wedding anniversary. My husband and I made it to 4 years...

Anyway, all in all it was a fantastic day. I had lots of fun, copious amounts of G&T was consumed, I was dragged round the dance floor to the ceilidh music, managed to avoid conversation with my drunken ex and fell into bed at midnight, utterly exhausted!

With the gorgeous bride, Steph (wearing her something borrowed - my diamante necklace)

This massive inflatable was on the lawn at the wedding venue... and yes, I went down it....

{What I Wore - My Best Friend's Wedding}

My very good friend Steph gets married in Inverness right about now (Congratulations sweetie!). I chose a dress to wear for the occasion whilst on my personal shopping trip at House of Fraser. Jeanette, the personal shopper, is uh-mazing!! I doubt I would have even picked this off the rail, but it's such a flattering dress and I love it (it's in the sale at the moment too!).

I tried pairing it with black tights and black patent court shoes, but it just didn't look right, so I have bought new neutral accessories to match. Here's what I chose:

Keep a watch on my Twitter feed for some pictures of me in the ensemble!!

{Sexy Saturday}

Dirty Little Whispers

So for a bit of fun I thought I'd join in with 'Sexy Saturday' hosted by Dirty Little Whispers...

Here's the gist from Little Miss:

"Sexy Saturday is all about feeling sexy!
Wear your sexiest clothes/lingerie whichever you prefer and flaunt yourselves. Feel proud of your bodies, your wibbly wobbly bits and those crazy curves!
Bear all and feel great about yourselves, you don’t have to be naked, show us your most flattering outfits or if you dare to bare then go for it
Just post a photo of you feeling your sexiest every Saturday. It can even be you in your marigolds ;)
Or you can simply just let us know what made you feel sexy this week! A compliment from a stranger, cheeky smile at your best assets, or a new figure!"

At this current time, I'm still in my pyjamas (weather miserable so kiddies and I are having a lazy day!), but I thought I'd share a photograph of me from the Scottish Fashion Awards that I went to on Monday night this week at the SECC.

I went along with good friends Becky and Laura, who have both written about the event, so I'll just refer you over to their posts here and here for more info & pics!

I had such a fun evening - getting all dressed up, the awards themselves and then cocktails afterwards at Blythswood Square Hotel. Thanks girls for a brilliant night x

Laura, Becky & myself

And again in reverse order!

I had my hair and make-up done at a local salon and that really did make the outfit complete.

Linking up again this week with Transatlantic Blonde for her What I Wore Wednesday blog hop.

Similarly to Transatlantic Blonde who is sporting a fab holiday sequin jumper, I am in my Christmas jumper.  Big thank you to my good friend @OliveDragonfly... this is a jumper from New Look which she got last Christmas and has passed it very kindly onto me, and I love it.

Worn with my skinny jeans from Next :-)
