{What I've Been Up To}

I have been totally rubbish with my Sunday Roundup posts of late, so I thought I would bring you all up to speed with what I've been getting up to, in no particular order...

This weekend I was in Edinburgh and was checking out the other mummies at the National Museum of Scotland. It's the first time I've been here as an adult, and was rather impressed with the building:

Has anyone been along to the RBS Museum Lates events at the museum before? I quite fancy it...I'm going to put it on my list of things to do when the Mammoths of the Ice Age exhibition opens.

I also had a bit of pampering whilst I was kiddie-free. Here's Nicole my hairdresser at Kano :-)

Pancakes and jam... yum!

I spent a weekend in Aberdeen for my sister's 30th! Happy Birthday Ali!

I've been doing some DIY at the new house!

Out with the power drill!

The kids and I went to see Santa at the St Enoch Centre

I won the People Make Glasgow #glasgowstylemile competition! Super chuffed and feeling very lucky :-)

The little ones got new shoes - loving these navy patent Lelli Kelly boots.

They got dressed up for Halloween - batman and a bunny!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway for tickets to the Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair at the SECC. The competition ends on Friday this week.

{Sunday Roundup}

This week has gone by so quickly. I'm supposed to be moving house on Thursday this week, but the missives aren't concluded. I'm working on the basis that we are going to be moving though and as such I'm busy packing, organising and cleaning...so much do to!

I'm loving this glasses print t-shirt from Tesco. Picture is blurry I know, but you get the idea :-)

We went to Ruff & Tumble this week. The staff are lovely and we had a really nice lunch. I had their homemade soup and it was yum! This soft play is a nice size for babies and toddlers and I always feel quite relaxed when I'm there. Margaret, the owner, was lovely enough to share her chocolates with us too!

Part of moving house has involved a lot of decluttering and I've been going through all my stuff. Here's my own Primary 1 school report... "Slightly less mature than her peers"... quite harsh as I was a January baby and was much younger than the majority of them!!

Enjoying a Pizza Hut whilst I packed. Diet has completely gone out the window and I'm feeling terrible for it. I've hardly been exercising too. Must get back on it.

I was sent some tea, coffee and biscuits to review from Ringtons. More on this later...

How was your week?

{Sunday Roundup}

I'm late again... forgive me as I'm swamped... you'll notice why in the first photo!!

Yep, it's 2.5 weeks until moving day. I feel like I've still got so much to sort, but I'm making progress at least, even if it is slow!

The kids and I baked biscuits, and smothered them in Nutella! They were yummy!

The littlest has been hard work... she's very determined and this can be a negative thing at times as she won't listen to me. But we've enjoyed lots of laughs this week. She's getting more confident in the bath and will put her ears under the water. Fingers crossed she's better next time I take her swimming!! Last time it was a bit of a disaster and she clinged to me the whole time!

The kids dad ran a marathon at the weekend, so we were busy crafting him a medal and a trophy.

Sadly enough, I've really enjoyed dancing around to the cheesy tracks on this CD!

 Ooh Ee Ooh Ah Ah Ting Tang Walla Walla Bing Bang! :-)

Have you had a good week?

{Sunday Roundup}

The weeks are going by in a bit of a blur at the moment.

I was supposed to be moving house on Friday this week, but there's been a hiccup somewhere in the chain and the move has been postponed for a few weeks. This actually works in my favour and I'm able to get a bit more organised. I've been selling furniture on Gumtree and having a proper clear out. Today I've been quite ruthless and have managed to get another car load of stuff to the tip. This pleases me!!

Anyway, here's some of my Instagram pics from the week...

My new Wallis jumper. The weather has definitely turned and I'm starting to feel the cold! Won't be long until I swap my duvet back to my winter one!

Playing dens with the little ones in the empty boxes!

We got a bit messy creating Fireman Sam snow and water rescues using shaving foam!

Drawing silly faces onto balloons and performing a play, again from within the box!

Bex and I had dinner at Cup - it was delicious & I'd highly recommend it.

Baking for the Bake Off at Peter's West End, which unfortunately we didn't make it to in the end. Gutted.

The finished cupcakes...!!

Trying to be better with my eating... this morning I had a king prawn and vegetable omelette, which was pretty good if I do say so myself!

{Weekend in Durham}

This post was supposed to be my Sunday Roundup, but I've been so busy I totally forgot about it until now... and it's Wednesday. Oops!!

At the weekend my sister (@the_grey_house) and I headed off on the train from Glasgow to Durham for the night for the wedding of Peter & Jenn.
On the train!

We stayed at Gadds Town House - a boutique hotel that was right opposite the church.

I loved the interior of the hotel... reminded me a bit of Malmaison.

Scrubbed up and ready to rock n'roll. I was doing a reading at the ceremony and was a tad nervous! Thankfully it went well!!

The morning after... feeling a little dishevelled. My sister & I got a bit carried away at the ceilidh and I ended up on the concrete floor and managed to hurt my side. Whoops! :-(

On all the tables were charity shop vases filled with flowers. The guests were asked to take a vase of their choice home with them as a wedding favour. This was the jug that I picked.

The hotel room had a velvet curtain hiding the glass shower allowing the guest(s) in the room to peep in! We also had a bath at the bottom of the bed!! Would highly recommend it for a weekend away with someone special... perhaps not your sibling!

Unfortunately we didn't get much of an opportunity to explore Durham, but the town was really pretty and I'd definitely like to go back. It was only 3 hours on the train, and it was a direct route too with no changeovers. Ideal!

Back to Glasgow after a lovely day - absolutely knackered!

{Sunday Roundup}

This week has gone by pretty quickly... can't believe it's August already!!!

Trying a bit harder with my work wardrobe... shirt from Next, skirt from Mint Velvet and my Boden boots which have had to go into get re-heeled.

The weather has been on & off... new pink flip flops from Sainsbury's

My littlest in her tutu!! Proper little fashionista

My son is four this month.... 4!!!!

My dad & his wife Jo came for the weekend and on Saturday we went to Loch Lomond to the Sea Life Centre. My favourite part was the otters.... they were just so adorable and the squeals of delight from my littlest as they popped in and out of the water were just the best.

It's now 5 weeks until moving day and my dad helped me take down some of my light fittings which aren't being included in the sale. Bye bye chandeliers, for now anyway!

{Sunday Roundup}

Well, where to start... what a week it's been.

I'VE SOLD MY HOUSE!!!

Yes, if you didn't hear the screams of delight from Glasgow (or more realistically my earlier tweets!) I am pleased to say that the house has now sold!

Four months on the market, three notes of interest, two formal offers...and one happy me!! (you can imagine me singing, badly, along to the tune of The Twelve Days of Christmas!!!)

I've to be out of the house in just under 6 weeks and I have no idea where I'm going to move to. Eeek!!

I've been doing a bit of packing up and feeling mixed emotions. I'm really excited for the fresh start, but I'm nervous and uncertain about where I'll be over the next few months. I'm also sad when I think about the happy memories I had when I first moved in here five years ago and then there's all the not so nice memories that followed. I just need to keep telling myself that I can do this...

Anyway, here are some of the pics from our week:

Littlest thoroughly loves trying on my shoes!!

Enjoying a glass of fizz at the John Lewis #JLvintage bloggers event. We were thoroughly spoiled!

A miniature Victoria sponge... so cute! #JLvintage

My sister arrived on Friday for the weekend... the number of photos we took in order to get a semi-decent one was unreal!!

Ali & I did the Accreditation 1 course at the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome... I'll do a separate post on this. Watch this space!

My plumber came over to fix the toilet, much to the delight of my son who also got out his toy toolkit to help him!

P.S. Remember to enter my competition for a family cinema pass for the Sea Life Centre, Loch Lomond. It ends this week.
