Sales Shopping at Glasgow Fort

At the weekend, Rick & I headed to Glasgow Fort for some sale shopping. We arrived nice and early, about 11am-ish, and got parked really easily - result! You'll be amazed at all the bargains I managed to pick up. I've filmed a vlog, but not had a chance to upload this yet as I've been travelling visiting family these past few days.

So in the meantime, here's what I chose:

Carex hand wash, strawberry laces and bubblegum scents - 2 for £2 (I absolutely love these hand washes!)
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour creams (30 mL x2) - £3
L'Oreal eye make-up remover - £2
Hair bobbles - £2.50
Black glittery hair clips x4 - £2.50 (I'm still growing out my fringe!)
Can opener - £3 (mine is really rusty and desperately needed replacing!)
Drop earrings - £2
Camera case - £3.50
Phone case - £1
Cat leggings for my daughter - £4 (not in sale)
Jeans for my son - £4
Pack of 5 socks for my son - £4 (not in sale)
Pack of 5 socks for me - £5 (not in sale)
Fox slipper socks - £3
Suede casual ankle boots - £10
Taupe super soft jumper for lounging around the house - £3
So that comes to a total of £54.50. I think I did pretty well!!

Rick didn't have as much success as I did unfortunately. In Jack & Jones there seemed to be plenty of options available in size small, but there wasn't much in medium :-(

He selected the following:

Maroon hoodie, £20

Maroon polo short-sleeved shirt, £10

T-shirt, £7.50
T-shirt, £7
Black belt, £5

Bringing that to a total of £49.50.

Both the t-shirts were small so he has gifted these to his brothers:

Whilst we were at Glasgow Fort we had some lunch. We timed our visit perfectly as the Eats from the Street event was running. Burritos from Mighty Mexican were chosen, and they were amazing!

Rick also picked up a new suit from Next in the sale along with a new shirt and tie. I grabbed a few bargains for the littlest from Next as well (leggings and a dress). And we both got some new shoes at Clarks. I particularly love my new Gore-tex tan boots. Aren't they gorgeous...

What bargains have you grabbed in the sales?

We were gifted a £50 voucher for Asda Living and a £50 voucher for Jack & Jones at Glasgow Fort for this write up. Opinions, as always, are my own.

Christmas Sale Shopping - Fashion

It used to be that the Christmas sales started on Boxing Day, however these days there are 'end of season' sales starting left, right & centre! I can barely keep up (I'm in granny mode again!!). I have so many emails arriving at my inbox tempting me with 25% off here or 50% there. It's very difficult to resist!!

When I was younger, maybe aged 14, 15 and 16, my mum, sister & I would queue at Next from the small hours on Boxing Day morning to grab a bargain and we would stumble out of the shop with carriers full to the brim.

Online shopping is more accessible now and I'm much happier sat at my computer or phone in hand so I don't have to face the crowds. Did you see the footage of Silverburn Shopping Centre on Black Friday? It was crazy!!

If money were no object, I'd be snapping up some of the bargains at Baukjen and Boden. I never buy anything full price at Boden and tend to always wait for the sales!

I love an embellished jumper. This one is from Boden. Was £99, now £49.50

Dartmouth Tunic Dress, from Boden. Was £99, now £69.30

Natalia Dress in Pewter, from Boden. Was £129, now £64.50

Chic Ankle Boot, from Boden. Was £119 now £83.30

Aaaah....so many pretty things and not. enough. money!!

That said, in my lunch break yesterday I did purchase two dresses from Baukjen. I absolutely love their clothing and I do need a few more work outfits for my new job, at least that's how I'm justifying it! The dresses that I've had previously stood the test of time and washed well too. Without further ado, here are the ones that I selected:

I've had the Zoe Knit Dress before in Berry which you can see here in a previous post, but sadly the zip broke (It was two years old and had been worn week in week out, washed countless times...). So I'm happy that I've been able to replace it. I used to wear mine to work, but also dressed it up for drinks & dinner :-)

And whilst I was on the Baukjen website, I spotted this 'wardrobe hero' ruched jersey dress. I'm hoping the ruches will help hide my lumps and bumps!

What are your go-to shops for the festive sales?

{Fabulous Finds: Not On The High Street}

I've previously mentioned my gift drawer, and it's now getting a little empty so I thought I would get a few bits and pieces in the sales.

I love notonthehighstreet.com and buy a lot of gifts and things for our home from this site. I also try to find cards and presents that are unique and this is typically one of my first stops. This perhaps isn't so much of a fabulous find, as I'm sure that lots of you are aware of notonthehighstreet.com, but hopefully this will flag up some of the sellers that you may have overlooked or some other ideas that you may like.

I normally design and print my own thank you cards for the kids at Christmas, but this year I've chosen some by Pear-Derbyshire and they are so cute... a design with two little reindeer! Hopefully they'll arrive soon and I can start the task of writing them all!

I've also bought this gorgeous necklace by Tales From The Earth for my daughter's first birthday in April this year. His arms and legs are jointed and he really is such a cute little bear. I think he'll make a perfect keepsake and was reduced from £50 to £25 in their sale... bonus!

I also stocked up on some notecard sets from notonthehighstreet.com for my gift drawer, including this stamper cards giftbox by lollipop designs. I think it will make a perfect gift, that's if I don't use them first! Again, these are reduced in the sale by 50% from £12.50 to £6.25. There are a few other designs too: dragonfly (for you Becky!!), owl, butterfly, daisy and pigeon.

Another set of notecards I purchased were these little cakes cards by Rosalind Howard Bespoke Stationery. They are 25% off taking them from £5.25 to £3.94 for a pack of 8 cards.

The last item in my order was a reward chart for my son, who is nearly 2 and a half years old. He loves stickers, so I thought this would be a good idea to encourage good behaviour. There is space for 4 tasks each week with a reward (I was thinking extra story at bedtime, or trip to the park). Watch this space and see how I get on... I'm not sure if he's may be a little too young for this but I will give it a go. I'm keen to praise the good behaviour and try to ignore the bad rather than start using naughty steps etc. But this may all change!!

Reward Chart by YoYo-Me (this is the girls version)

What websites do you use for gifts and have you found any bargains in the Christmas sales?
