{35 at 35 - talk to somebody famous, check!}

Regular readers will know already about my 35 at 35 list, but for my new followers (hi there *waves*) let me fill you in... When I turned 30 back in January 2012 I set myself a target... 35 items for me to complete by the time I turn 35. The other week when the littlest and I met Myleene Klass at the Mothercare St Enoch Centre launch I was able to check off another item, number 19 "talk to somebody famous".

On the subway on our way into town

Taking a selfie on the subway!!

Myleene was so friendly and absolutely beautiful - as you can see from the pics. She's stunning!

Despite the fact that things were running a little later than schedule (her little helper Jessica decided pulling silly faces was better than smiling for the camera!), Myleene and I chatted for a good while about single parenting, achieving a good work/life balance and Myleene's BabyK range that's now in its 12th season in store at Mothercare.

I asked Myleene what would be her advice to any new mums, and her response was concise:

"mama knows best"

We shared experiences about having the confidence to trust your own instinct and Myleene explained that all grown-ups are different and want different things, which is also applicable for children - it can't be expected for any two to behave/want the same. Makes perfect sense to me!

Myleene said for her the key to a good work/life balance is prioritisation and being organised, and I couldn't agree more. What I didn't realise was that Myleene did the nursery/school run for her two daughters herself - it's reassuring to hear that a hugely successful single working parent can manage it all.

Myleene complimented the littlest's impeccable behaviour - proud mummy moment for me!

And here we are... let's get the 35 at 35 list updated. What to tick off next??

{Mothercare, St Enoch Centre & BabyK - a review}

Last week Mothercare opened it's new store in Glasgow's St Enoch Centre and it's now Mothercare's largest city centre store in Scotland.

The littlest and I were delighted to be invited along for the launch where we met TV presenter, singer and fashion designer Myleene Klass. Myleene designs the BabyK range for the store, which is now in it's 12th season.

Isn't Myleene just so glam! She was super friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with her.

The new St Enoch Centre, Mothercare is over two floors. The ground floor is focused on the fashion with the celebrity collections BabyL and Little Bird by Jools Oliver. The upper floor has all the baby gear that you can imagine - prams, baby baths, nursery bedding etc - as well as toys from Early Learning Centre. There are lots of offers in store at elc just now too as this year marks their 40th birthday.

Littlest and I love a bit of bling and this star embellished top is amazing.
Can I have one in my size please!

And the jacket and boots too!!

How cute is this t-shirt that features Myleene's two girls! Myleene has been looking at various stock photographs for the t-shirt and then decided to use a photo of her own girls instead. It's beautiful.

We were allowed to choose one item from the BabyK range to take home with us, and the littlest picked this gorgeous swimsuit and hat. We love it. As soon as we got home she was insistent that it was put on so it could be tried out in the bath. And then it was worn the day after too for our swimming lesson! The gorgeous flower print is really colourful and I adore the addition of the 3D fabric flowers. The swimming cap is just the perfect finishing touch - so stylish! The swimsuit fitted the littlest really well and she was nice and comfortable whilst in it.

With her Cup Cake Lil' Cutesies Lulu Doll all ready for the pool!

We received a complimentary item from the BabyK range and a Mothercare gift voucher in exchange for an honest review. Opinions, as always, are my own.

{Baby & Toddler Winter Wardrobe}

I was kindly invited to the exclusive #VIPmums preview event at the new Mothercare Coatbridge store a few weeks ago. I normally visit the East Kilbride Mothercare, and for those of you that know the EK store will understand how difficult it can be to navigate and the small ELC is jam packed and you can't get a pram round very easily. It can also be difficult to get a member of staff to help you.

Well, the Coatbridge store is lovely.  It's bright, airy and there is lots of room. There is also a central help desk - this will hopefully save you having to hang around in the hope that you catch a salesperson's attention. The fitting room is spacious - lots of room to take in a pram - and there is also a parents area. The big plus point to me is the large ELC. There is space for the little ones to try out the toys and the staff are engaging and helpful.

Here are some of the pics provided to me by the store:

Whilst I was there I found the perfect hat for my son. I had been looking for something like this as I had seen one in House of Fraser but it was black and I ideally wanted a navy one so it would match his jacket & waterproof gear. It's super cosy and looks so cute!

Boys Navy Trapper, Mothercare

Here's a lowdown on the rest of our winter gear:

Regatta pack-away waterproof jacket (gift from Granddad & Nanny Jo)

Waterproof dungarees, Jojo Maman Bebe

Parka Jacket from Next (gift from Uncle Tom & Auntie Fi) - this is a year old now and despite being worn loads it's still going strong and still fits well.

My daughter also has her winter gear sorted....

Wallaboo Footmuff (picture is from when she was a tiny newborn but we still use it)

Bear All-in-one, Asda (was a gift from Auntie Ali & Uncle Chris for my son)

As I said, the ELC at the new Mothercare Coatbridge store is brilliant - I was very impressed. They also stock Schleich plastic animals and I bought my son a horse and sheep to join the pig and cow that he already owns. They're brilliant and my son loves to role play with the animals at all opportunities! Plus lots of singing of 'Old Macdonald'...!!

If you're nearby then I'd definitely recommend a trip to the store. There are also some really good bargains on at the minute in the ELC... snap them up whilst you can. This wooden construction train set is currently half price. We love traditional wooden toys in our house!
