{Fabulous Finds: Christmas Jumper}

Last Christmas I was seen sporting a fab reindeer jumper that I borrowed from my good friend Becky.

A lot of people asked where I had gotten it from, but it was purchased by Becky a while ago and wasn't currently available in the shops. So, this year, here is my round up of the coolest Christmas jumpers I could find...

And one for the men, although technically the description says it's unisex...

What are your thoughts... yay, or nay, for the Christmas jumper?

{Busy}

I've been rushed off my feet this past month or so. My friend and her three girls were staying with me for just under a fortnight, then I had my sister's wedding, then my dad & his wife were visiting, followed by a visit from my sister and her husband (btw congrats guys!). On top of this, I've been busy getting more stuff done at the house (I've converted my dining room into a playroom, and changed the living room about a bit so it's a proper grown-up space - no toys!). It's only now that I'm getting back into a routine.

I've joined a new gym (thanks to my friend who transferred her membership over to me!), and starting to feel motivated again about exercise. I went straight from work yesterday (if I were to go home first and sit down, it was more than likely that I wouldn't have gone out again!) and did a workout... on the treadmill, rowing machine and then for a swim.

I was trying to look cool, and failed miserably... I slipped on the steps on my way into the pool area and landed on my ass. Majorly embarrassing. However, I think (crosses fingers) no-one saw me. Honestly, what am I like!

Healthy eating has not been going so well (as I stuff more chocolate into my mouth!) and I know I need to make more of an effort to cook from scratch. In my defence, I did make soup the other day in the slow cooker but I will continue to try harder.

I've also been getting more organised... around the house, planning play dates ahead of schedule and making the most of my days off. I feel much more on top of things now as a result. I just hope I can keep it up.

The kids and I went to soft play last week - it's been a while since I've taken them - but it was great fun and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. There were tantrums from both when we had to leave which was not so great. The walk home seemed to take forever with a son that kept demanding to go back! We also had a dry afternoon on Friday so we headed straight for the park. It was great for all of us to get some fresh air, and I felt myself smiling as I walked home. I was really starting to get fed up of raining days stuck indoors. I've also been looking into organised activities for the kids, and I'm hoping to sign them up for a few things soon.

Things are on the up again, I hope?

{Things I'm Loving Right Now}

Glasgow Mummy

Here are some of the things I'm loving right now...

The cold weather...

Ok, so it's not quite snowing yet, but I do rather like the cold weather. Just as well I hear you say seeing as we live in Scotland!! I love wrapping up warm in lots of layers to keep cosy, I love thick warm knitwear and love making the switch from my summer duvet to my 15 tog winter one! I think as long as you are prepared for the cold weather, then it's fine. What's not great is if you're stuck in the cold, wet weather wearing inappropriate clothing (which is what I did the other week...oops!). And I also don't like the rain... bleugh... and there's been plenty of it this week that's for sure!

Gold jewellery...

I've always been a wearer of silver jewellery, but recently I've found myself accessorising with gold. I've got a gold watch that was my mum's (it's engraved on the back from her mum and dad) and a gold necklace and bracelet that were also my mum's (my sister and I nearly sold the necklace and bracelet as we thought we'd never wear them). I never thought I'd wear gold, but I have to say I'm really liking it. The only thing I'm missing is a funky gold ring... it's on my wish list :-)

Dexter...

My sister let me borrow her Dexter box set and it's taken me ages to get around to watching it. I did start a while back, but got a few episodes in and gave up. I've persevered this time and I'm glad I stuck with it. It's gotten really interesting and I'm now hooked. I'm just on Series 2, so have a lot of catching up to do (and I've still not finished ER yet either!).

And on that note, I'm going to get snuggled up in bed and watch another Dexter episode!

{Wedding Bells}

So, it was my sister's wedding last weekend, and what a weekend it was!

We had an amazing day... the weather was good, the alcohol was flowing and everyone had a fantastic time.

I'm going to share a few of the pics with you here... just a quick post, sorry! I'll fill you all in on the recent goings on later. It's been a busy few weeks with my friend leaving, then the wedding, then my dad and his wife stayed with us for a few days. In amongst all this I've been making more changes at the house... it's all coming together!

The pearl bouquets that Ali made herself

The beautiful bride

Sisters! (Ali removed her lace jacket and changed jewellery for the evening reception)

The cake topper - how cute!

Needless to say I was a little tipsy!!

Wow! Can't wait to see them all!!!

{Emotional}

I've neglected my blog this past week or so as I've had my very good friend and her three girls staying with me. Her partner Craig is currently in Australia setting them up with a house, car etc and they fly out tomorrow.... it's a permanent move. I'm going to miss them loads. I met Ailsa in hospital when our 3 year olds were born just a day apart. She's been by my side through the good times, and the bad.

I've already had a breakdown and been in tears over her leaving, but tomorrow I need to hold it together as I'm responsible for getting her to the airport and helping her get organised before the flight. She's flying on her own with a 1.5 year old, 3 year old and a 9 year old....!! I bet as soon as she's on the plane though I'll be in pieces.

On top of that, tomorrow evening I'm going up to Aberdeen with my dad and his wife for my sister's wedding this weekend. On Friday, Ali wants to take a small bouquet to our mum's grave and it's going to be an emotional time too. But I need to be the strong one and hold it together.

Then, I've got the wedding ceremony to get through. I'm so happy for my little sister and her future husband is lovely. But I know it's likely to be an emotional time for me with all the stuff that's gone on with me and my husband. I've also not seen some of my family since the split and I'm sure once the drink is flowing they'll be wanting to know the story.

I know I'll manage fine, and I'm going to have an amazing time at the wedding, but I think there are going to be some tough moments to get through too.

Watch this space for the photographs of her big day (I'm chief bridesmaid...like she had an option!).
